How one simple football campaign with an impressive line-up of world stars can save lives

Category: Cases

Golazo Brands and UEFA joined forces for a new campaign. For ‘Get trained. Save lives.’ an impressive line-up of world stars, including Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martínez, Ana Marković, Ruud Gullit, Gareth Bale, Thierry Henry, Didier Deschamps and Rio Ferdinand have been deployed to teach football supporters CPR to save lives.

The initiative by UEFA and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), focuses on the importance of resuscitation. With cardiac arrest being the third leading cause of death in Europe, the campaign stresses the importance of quick action. Every minute counts, as the chance of survival decreases by 10% per minute. Therefore UEFA is on a mission to teach 111.000 Europeans the basic steps of CPR.

The campaign invites football fans to take part in an interactive CPR course on the platform www.get-trained.com. In less than four minutes, football fans will learn the essential skills of CPR, accessible in 40 different languages.

The involvement of football icons makes the training on get-trained.com unique. In a virtual dressing room, Ruud Gullit invites football fans to participate in the course together with the stars. Interactive questions guide users through the module, with players’ reactions to answers given.

To reach an even wider audience, Golazo developed an interactive chatbot for UEFA and ERC. Supporters can follow a training session via Instagram and Facebook. Lautaro Martinez and Erling Haaland will speak to them there, taking football fans step by step through the basic steps. The chatbot is available via the UEFA Instagram channel and their Facebook Messenger. Win-win for the user as well as UEFA and ERC, who expect high conversion numbers with this in-app experience.

The campaign can be seen on all UEFA channels. With EURO 2024 coming up, the campaign will get even more visibility. Around matches, Golazo and UEFA launch commercials that will also be visible in and around stadiums. Activities around CPR will also take place in all fan zones of the ten host cities.
