Very Cool Events and Golazo join forces in the UK

The Very Cool Events Company, organisers of the hugely successful Tour of Cambridgeshire and Marmotte Ecosse are proud to announce that they have joined forces with Europe’s leading mass participation sports events company Golazo. To reflect the strength of the partnership and the commitment to amateur cycling in the UK, the Very Cool Events company has changed its name to Golazo Cycling.

Bob Verbeeck CEO of Golazo Group commented: “The team behind the Tour of Cambridgeshire have already done an amazing job creating world class mass participation cycling events in the UK. We are delighted to have joined forces with them to create the best offering for amateur cyclists in the UK and the rest of Europe. As organisers of the Gran Fondo Series, Tour of Flanders, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Paris-Roubaix and the Marmotte Series, Golazo will further strengthen the organisation behind the Tour of Cambridgeshire and the Marmotte Ecosse.”

Tom Caldwell from Verycool Events added: “I have to pinch myself that we have been able to join forces with Golazo, organisers of the most iconic, must do, mass participation cycling events in Europe. Malcolm Smith and I are first and foremost cyclists, we created Very Cool Events because we love the sport and we believe that our passion shines through in the events we organise. Our total quality approach fits very neatly with that of Golazo. This opportunity will not only allow us to expand our portfolio of events but it will also help our fellow riders in the UK to understand and access the most iconic mass participation events across Europe.”

Golazo Cycling have ambitious plans to increase the number of events and participants in the UK and to continue to innovate with their delivery. The team were the first to bring a closed road mass participation Time Trial and closed road authentic Gran Fondo to UK riders giving them the chance to qualify for the Amateur World Championships.

Golazo Cycling will continue to innovate and work with partners to ensure that the rider experience is second to none. They will promote all of the Golazo cycling events overseas to the UK audience. Particularly exciting is Golazo’s Climbing for Life events, a recent innovation that offers riders the chance to take on the most iconic climbs in a weekend festival of cycling. Based at locations such as The Col Du Galibier and Les 2 Alpes the event is aimed at all levels of rider, participants will be able to come together in a competitive environment, to raise money for charity, make new friends and renew acquaintances in the global cycling community.
